Kings Island's 14th coaster, Firehawk, was opened in May 2007. The Firehawk was closed after a rider suffered breathing issues and later died at a Cincinnati hospital, on Saturday, Aug 8, 2009. The ride was re-opened after an inspection.

The Middletown Midfest in October of this year will feature art, food and more from Indonesia.
